Dear colleagues, 

We are writing to you because you have shown interest and support for the French Association of Population Economists in one way or another.

The Transitional Steering Committee has had the pleasure of organizing, with the support of our inaugural conference organizing team, the activities of the association for this first year. We look forward to welcoming many of you on May 2nd and 3rd at Campus Condorcet (as a reminder, registrations are open until Friday, March 29th).

In the meantime, we are organizing the election of the eight members of the steering committee, who will be tasked with continuing what has been initiated since last September and further developing our network.

Election Schedule:
Deadline for candidate declarations: Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Deadline for membership for participation in the election as a candidate or as a voter: Monday, April 15, 2024.
Online voting open: from Friday, April 19 to Monday, April 29, 2024.
Declaration of results: no later than the annual General Assembly of the association on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Candidates for the Steering Committee hold 4-year terms (reduced to 2 years for half of the members in this first election to initiate staggered renewal). Candidacies are individual and should be addressed to the Secretary-General (stephane.benveniste[at]ined.fr or bureau[at]afepop.fr). 

Any member of the association can declare themselves a candidate and also has the opportunity to suggest candidates, whose desire to be considered will be verified by the Transitional Steering Committee. Once the list of candidates is finalized, a second email will be sent to members only, detailing the voting procedures, and an individual link will be provided for voting.
